YAY! I was out all day yesterday and enjoyed myself thoroughly...after spending most of my time occupied with year end, it was finally over on the 26th OCT, wow! everything seemed to pass so quickly, the few grps that i have to thank for it's success, at least for the events that i am i/c of is........*drum rolls*
1) PA
2) NJC Angklung Ensemble esp xuesi for being so understanding
3) My hardworking gamemasters, esp, denise, fel( my beloved fellow hse coordinators)
4) Florentina,my very important stage manager
5) Chinmaya for being so sporting
6) Andre for being such a wonderful emcee
7) justine for helping me out
8) Stanley's Band - Mother's Father's (funny name if u convert it to chinese)
9) guitar-schezn
10) band-drum set and amplyfier
11) my dumplings! charleen aka chumpling and sasha ska sumpling...naturally i am numpling....see! cool huh? theatre have dim sum dollies, and njc have the three dumplings!
and many more that i cant rmbr at the moment
yupps...they really made the night right....i think i build lots of muscles that day and promoted quick skin growth ( due to the sudden death of many skin cells that day) after all that movement of the tables and benches, and heavy notice boards and skin abrasions caused my handling of super thick ropes...whew! it's over! reached home at abt 11 + and slept at one aft bathing and eating supper....
and the next day, as predicted, i was still super tird but not tired enough to miss a lunch treat by mr goh at thai express at PS...YUMMY! i ate pineapple fried rice and drank banana blend.....a very good place to eat! talk more with my fellow yr-end comm mates and then went onto orchard library at taka to pick up reading again and spend some time...at 4pm met up with sam and gerard to do some aqua shopping!before meeting the rest of the aqua councillors at pastamania for dinner! wat fun! hahas...i ordered creamy chicken with fusilli desppite warnings from dear denise tt it will be rather filling and i may not even be able to finish it...she doesnt like fusilli too! she was looking at me in disbelief when i even proceeded to add more cheese powder to my plate..as she said, i didnt manage to finish my plate... and wat did the creative aquarians do? ....muahahax
we(as in the girls) started to add all sorts of things available into the plate, LIBERALLY!, chilli, salt, tabasco sauce(i added that!) cheese powder.... and sam arranged a heap spoonful of it for gerard to eat! hahas, we dared him to eat it to get a cup of milo...
it was sooooooo funny! in the end he got a $1 macdonald's voucher cos hahas, according to him it was worth more than a cup of fifty cent milo... aft he ate it, he had to gurgle quite a few times...hmmms how did it taste like? :P
then we went shopping ard the first level of PS, shant elaborate on how intersting it was...HAHA two guys following 6 gals.....then we went to BEN and JERRY at Cathay...the ice-cream i like best is phishfood! very chocolaty! we ate a cool combo called merlionster which includes 6 scoops of ice-cream and lots of toppings...
earlier that day, during lunch with mr goh, we started talking abt bgr and stuff... and he taught something called the language of love. there are 5, namely: affirmation, acts of service, gifts, physical touch and quality time...your language of love is one that when someone do it to u, u will feel most loved...so wat's urs? its rather interesting... fel and zhi wei claimed all 5 cos thy felt that for them none is dorminant over the other, bandana's is affirmation, denise and sam is quality time while mine and charleen is physical touch...cool huh?
yupps that kind of ended our day...we spent the rest of the night at Ben and Jerry's...

Find your Celestial Choir
Don't lose your way
With each passing day
You've come so far
Don't throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope & glory
Hold to the truth in your heart
If we hold on together I
know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I
Souls in the wind
Must learn how to bend
Seek out a star Hold on to the end
Valley, mountain
There is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying
Someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I
When we are out there in the dark
We'll dream about the sun
In the dark we'll feel the light
Warm our hearts, everyone
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly
The clouds roll by
For you and I

i dont think i have mugged harder in my life, even 'o's
physics + y.t.h. is driving me nuts but i have to really comb out all those tangles...
chemistry is making abit less sense then it used to but i think it will turn out fine...
maths is OKAY! yay, EXCEPT for differentiation and intergration...
ECONS is ......hmms

And can you feel the stress tonight?
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed mugger
That we got this far
And can you feel the stress tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best(:

titleless
realised my bloggie is quite dead.
have been feeling rather depressed lately.
why do we have to study so hard?
why is the jc syllabus so saturated?
why do we have to do PW?
why is there only 24hrs per day?
but anyways, there's next week to look forward to...
yay! can go back to sn again! i miss pasta, orange bowl, hokkien mee, yu pian mian xian and ice tea! i miss nice uncle mobeen and company, the funny orange bowl uncle and the concerned sandwich auntie...
talking abt aqua....
we finally went round to all the j1 and 04ip05 classes to take photos with the lovely trophy! hope they change the red ribbons bac kto blue, i saw from past photos that they are actually BLUE! such a nice color, why did they change it, i wonder... i love aqua HAT! kind of feel that it was the most correct decision i have made for myself thus far... i kind of feel that everything other than my studies is turning for the better...
other stuff...
i fell down on tuesday.
while walking.
so stupid rites! innocent me was just walking as usual on my usual pace to the busstop along the road, i was playing the beat of the angklung drums in my head, zapin and sway, and i slipped along the edge of the pavement and OUCH! bloody scene. hurt my knee(again) and the second joint of my middle finger on my right hand. hahas, cant help pointing my middle finger, now that i cant bend it properly. phy spa on the same day, shdnt be a problem i tot, not expt, just skill c and d....limped abit home to wash the wound and dress it. i think i scared my maid abit becos of the bloddy mess on my knee...the blood was brownnish-red...yucks! show how "clean the pavement is" and it was like driping from my wound. i wiped the blood away and used a wet tissue to clean the wound...sticky man, plasma was oozing out periodically as i was on my way to sch, becos of my fall, i was nearly late....by the time i reached sch, my wound kind of gotten numb and so i was able to run all the way from the main gate to the parade square...
now what's left on my knee is an itching scab...

NDC reflections
from the beginning, sam has always been emphasizing, WE have always been emphasizing, that National Day Celebrations(NDC) is a major event for AQUA, 30% at stake! and with soo much efforts put in, the many late nights and frantic smses, the whole event seemed to be over in a flash......and now its full-fledged mugging... ...
i realised with everyone event that we take on, there are always new lessons to be learnt, more complicated problems will arise to be resolved and past problems may resurface like a stubborn mule... ...
Firstly, we have to thank the NDC comm for planning such a interesting programme for NDC......to uncle chua and auntie christine esp, THANK YOU for everything! i know that u received many scoldings frm miss chua and received many headaches from us councillors when we werent cooperative...the late night rehersals.....etc.....u get my highest admiration...wonder how it will be like when my ad-hoc is finally here..... i remember once when i was e i/c for the telematch on sports' day, no matter how detailed and how many backups we have for the whole event, i still felt very unprepared and jittery the day before... ...
Next, there are a few grps of ppl that really helped the HAT ALOT for NDC, namely the cheerleaders, for their fantastic and high-quallity routine despite it being so last minute the structure makers for coming out with so many interesting ideas like the catapult...., aqua councillors, HSE AFFILIATES!( man! i like them!) ,the OLD HAT for their never-wavering confidence in us and their encouragement and all enthusiastic aqua hse members who helped out or cheered super loudly during cheering session!
hmmms........i shall leave my private thoughts to myself for now.....guess they still need abit or sorting out...(: tadaaaa!

angklung farewell part II
exco gals
the 2 guys in angklung EXCO, they look like boy-boys la! as in young kids...
angklung snr guys plus mr fuad and mr tan
eileen and yijun, a very cute senior!
me and eric, my council cum elects' camp grp cum angklung snri think the new angklung EXCO did a great job organinsing the whole farewell despite some "stress" coming from the out-going exco.....i really enjoyed myself very much.....took many pictures....after everyone left, i went down to behind the grandstands to see what i cld help out with the grad nite deco, but seeing that they dont really need my help i left.... as i waiked out, i met the angklung ex-exco members again and they were walking really slowly towards the main gate and reading all the prezzies the juniors have given them..... aaaaahs then cons walked up to me and we hugged in the middle of the road.....i didnt want to cry that day... ...some last minute words were exchanged and i left the seniors to themselves, rushing home... ...
here are some photos that were taken that day!
Angklung farewell part I

My fav subjects
at 'o' levels, i liked all my subjects that i was studying except the humanities meaning social studies and history...though it is not always that i score very well for all of them............
to me, my favourite subjects are not neccessary the ones i score very well in, nor is it because i have the best teachers, and also not because that particular subject is easy, though all these do play a part in the degree of like-ness........
e.g. i like learning german in secondary sch, though i have never gotten at A for it in sec 4 before, i like it all the same, though i have to memorised many vocabulary for the compositions that i have to practise often and remember all that confusing nominativ, genitiv, dativ, akkusativ forms and the masculine, feminine and neutral pronouns and the many endings......and exceptions, i like it all the same... but i didnt take it in JC was becos it will be like learning german lit and i felt that wasnt up to it......but still i like german.
then there was maths, it was like a love-hate relationship, i can like and hate maths at the same time! it was a subject that i have been steadily acing in my secondary sch years.... though differentation and and intergration gives me headaches oft and make us go berserk over it, i still like maths al l the same... it was lucky that i had a wonderful teacher, mrs yeo then, she talks very fast, yet we understands wat she is teaching, and gives us lots of practice..........
for english, that's one frustrating subject that i can never aced. language skills are built up on foundations laid long long ago, my foundations were never strong, though i read avidly, grammar rules never seemed to go in........so is vocab so i am always stuck to a B/C-grade, really irritating situation............luckily i had a very dedicated teacher, mrs heng, who speaks and enuciates her word so clearly we cant help but learn to speak nicely too and ace our o lvls orals(i hope)..........her classes are fun and interesting..though i sometimes dislike the compositions we have to do.....
for the sciences, both bio and chem are memorising work while phy is hard on application...................i like bio but i hate memorising, so that was why before prelims my grades sturck to bs and Cs.......cos i dislike memorising every little detail, like how the who production of Penicilin is carried out or what and when exactly do each hormone in the female's menstrual cycle does and appears or what kind of microorganism is used for hte production of cheese and yoghurt and wat not.............i like learning abt them, esp stem cells and cloning and DNA but not memorising........... for chem, memorising wasnt so difficult, cos we had many TYS practices so we applied wat we learnt regulary to qns so everything that needs to be memorised is somehow up there alr......for phy, i hate swallowing the whole textbook too on the defintions and formulas.........somehow, i still manage to score As often for this subject though i dont like it as much as the former 2............but now anways, my PHY is horrible cos i am clueless abt wat is happening during the lecture la! econs is worse! and yong tau fu isnt helping much..........haix
but anyways, what i want to say is even aft such a horrible JC1 CT, i still love my subjects!(:

ilo's b'dae
celebrated ilona's b'dae at the round tables on friday! hahas, so fun! i was snapping cons' cam away at ilo cutting her cake, eating it and opening all the delightful 28 prezzies plus my cards!
twas funny cos...... i arrived at the round tables quite early so ilona wasnt there yet....yijun was busy arranging the 28 prezzies and she wasnt satisfied with the arrangement so we took everthing out and started putting everything back nicely again, then this dark shadow loomed behind us...........ilona had arrived!!!!!! she have thsi suspicious look and we were kind of shocked to see her. so me and yijun was like hurry! put everything back into place! hahas.....it was very nice watching ilona opening all her presents..........and her forcing everyone to have a bite of her cake! haix...will miss her at practices! she and her funny looks!!! and her "noreen, i have faith in you!" look and her wonderful advice.....and i will miss teasing her and pinching her cheeks! *pinch pinch!*....hahas, how she tolerates my nonsense!:P

Seniors
the last entry was simply full of photos cos i was too lazy/busy to type an entry yet i dont want to leave my beloved bloggie dead......so yupps, those were some photos taken with seniors and fellow angklunites on hte day of our successful performance and the day after that when we also performed at suntec city for this heritage festival thingy............
That day when we had our combined concert for angklung, many things happened, twas eventful! we were let off at 12:30pm which makes no difference to me cos that was the time that my timetable ends that day....so we had a super long lunch break where me and eileen went down to mug and chit chat... then we went for the last-minute rehearsal before the concert...guess everyone was in a high mode.... then went for a very early dinner at the amphi...where i managed to whip out my camera and take a few photos... unfortunately i left in a flurry and i left my beloved camera in the amphi, when i went back to look for it, it wasnt there! in the end, twas mr fuad who kept it for me, at first he dont want to return it to me la, boohoo! hahas, but anyways i got it back in the end la! funny mr fuad! so that was that, oh yah, on that day i managed to wrapped myself up in the sarong pretty neatly! hahas so quite proud of myself(:...someday i am going to teach my juniors how to do so nicely too!
aaaahs i look forward to orientation!
that night my fav snr had to rush home cos of an emergency..... and the next day we had a performance, xingyu didnt come that day so i was the only one playing "4" normal....so i missed my snr alots! ahhs. then cons took on 4 while joyce tried 4 atas..wat's worse is that the sound sys suntec wasnt good cos we can hardly hear ourselves, let alone TWO "4" angklungs playing...

ANGKLUNG LIFE
1st of july is one really memorable day in my j1 life! Angklungnites went down to TPJC to play ZAPIN for the malay dances...the atmosphere was electric! The day before, we had our first dry run of the song, twas a stressful experience for everyone, especially Cons i guess, everything just wasnt turning out the way it should! the song was too fast and the maly dancers had trouble catching up, the drumbeats were somehow not up to par with mr osman(is tt rite?) standards and all the last minute changes and tight time constraints is simply so frustating! phew! on that day, somehow, everything fell into place, the smiles came naturally, though the stress was still there to play well, and the loud applause at the end of our item simply made everything seemed so worth it! defitnitely, everyone felt elated after the performance. while walking to our bus, Educational minister Mr tharman shamugaratnam was leaving too! wat an honour! to be able to see him face-to-face and hearing praises from him that our playing was good. it just fall short of being able to take a photo with him. What a PITY! humph!
